- Funding for programs is limited…
Primarily funding for mental health support services and other programs that benefit CIPs in the US comes from the federal government. The current administration has terminated or plans to terminate most of these funds in the current proposed budget. In Latin America, governmental and philanthropic support is extremely limited. There is no existing data on total funding available, but experts estimate that the total is less than $3 per CIP per year across the region. Key informant interviews with people with lived experience identified the additional barriers.
